Miami 68, North Carolina 59

Kenny Kadji more than made up for the absence of injured fellow Hurricanes big man Reggie Johnson, helping Miami (11-3, 2-0 ACC) defeat the Tar Heels (10-5, 0-2 ACC) by pouring in 18 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks. James Michael McAdoo led the Heels with 14 points and six rebounds. The Miami win ended a ten game losing streak to North Carolina.
